NFL Review Week 17 and Jay Cutler's March To Canton Update (It isn't good)

Final full NFL Review of the year, sad times but I’m kinda glad its over too. This post is the longest one I have to do every week and I’ve gotten tired of writing about crappy teams.

When I was on my way back to Nashville from the metropolis of Kennesaw, Ga., I heard this old school Janet Jackson song and I was feeling it and actually singing along to it. Ah, 1990, an innocent time before I discovered Metallica, Alice In Chains and hard rock. I was a huge Janet Jackson fan and all of the pop songs during that time. Enjoy.

On to the Review… wait one more thing. I won my fantasy football league yay me, I like to thank my fans, yada, yada, yada, People's Champion has been mentioned here, lets get started and move on...

Detroit: What more can be said about these guys that hasn’t been said. OK, they fired their coach, which had to be done. However, they promoted someone within the organization, Martin Mayhew, a holdover from the dreadful Matt Millen era, to general manager without interviewing an outside source, including Scott Pioli! What a frickin joke! If I’m a Lions fan, I’m turning in my season tickets and not even following them anymore, the organization doesn’t deserve it.

Cincinnati: I got hooked on House bigtime over the Christmas weekend thanks to the USA Network. I watched about 12 episodes over the few days, literally. I was supposed to go out and spend time with family but I found myself stuck in the house watching five or six episodes at a time. Hugh Laurie is the man and all but I’ve developed a serious crush on Dr. Cuddy or Lisa Edelstein, the actress.

Not only is she hot, she’s an older woman, she plays the Dean of Medicine at the fictional hospital, so her character has power and that’s sexy as hell. Love this show.

What, you want me to analyze the Bengals, please.

St. Louis: No more Ram It, sorry. However, its good to see that the players have united to set up a petition to keep Jim Haslett. Nice. You win your first two games with the new coach and then decide to drop the next 10. You pro athletes are so funny, you amuse me beyond comprehension sometimes!

Kansas City: So Larry Johnson wants to move on from the Chiefs. I will give him a little credit, but not much, by acknowledging that he was part of the problem as well as the team. He’s stuck there though because KC can’t cut him with that new contract, the salary cap hit would be bad. And plus, you saw how stingy they were with not getting rid of Gonzalez.

Seattle: So where does Mike Holmgren go to coach next because you know that guy is coming back. He’s talking about spending time with the family, opening a restaurant, doing charity work, normal stuff. Problem is he’s not normal, he’s a football coach. That’s not a knock on him in particular, he’s just a guy who needs the activity of coaching. Why do you think that people like Joe Paterno (who I will get to later), Bobby Bowden, Bill Parcells and countless others find it difficult to retire and walk away. Its in their blood. I say San Francisco in three years, sorry Singletary.

Oakland: Nice win over Tampa and they looked like they cared for the last few games. Cable might actually keep the job and apparently he’s close with Al Davis. I actually want to see this work out because when Oakland is good, its fun to root for them or against them because they are the most polarizing team in the league this side of New England and Dallas.

Jacksonville: Jack Del Rio may not have a job by the time you read this. Whatever. However, in tribute to Meggie who was feeling my music choices a few weeks ago, here’s some more Lynyrd Skynyrd. Oak tree, you’re in my way!

Cleveland: Wow, I though these guys had a chance, especially Braylon Edwards and yeah, that didn’t happen. At least they have the chance to see Lebron James have his best season ever, win his first MVP and lead them to the NBA Finals, what did I just say that, yes, yes I did.

San Francisco: Seriously, congrats to Singletary for getting the job full-time. I loved what he did to Vernon Davis even though the media was killing him for it. Singletary needed to send a message and that was the right one at that time. Dropping Mike Martz was an interesting move. I understand that he didn’t want to have someone like Martz over his shoulder possibly undermining him but Martz can coach an offense.

San Diego: Philip Rivers, my hero. I can see them either losing to Indy by a bunch or actually going all the way to the Super Bowl, there is no in between for these guys.

Green Bay: I still think that they made the right choice of keeping Aaron Rogers and letting go of Coach Killer 2.0 (oh, I get to Mr. Favre later)

Houston: I want to say something positive about the Texans because Amber is from there but nothing is coming up.

Buffalo: Keeping the head coach is a welcome change from the ridiculous firings we’ve seen this week. Now, if they can only work on those current uniforms and not leaving for Toronto, then they’re in business.

New Orleans: Brees is my Offensive MVP and disappointed that he missed the passing record by only a few yards. In fact, a 15-yard out would have done it. Sour grapes Marino gets to keep it, damn hippie.

Didn’t see the niece and nephews this Christmas because they were in Louisiana with other members of the family. That was a bummer. Looking forward to my Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets laying the smack down on LSU in the Peach Bowl tonight.

Yes, its still the Peach Bowl, screw Chick-fil-a. Actually, I like their nuggets, so forget I said that.

Chicago: I’ve had Seinfeld links here the past two weeks and I shouldn’t stop now.

Arizona: Too many people like Atlanta this week so let me publicly take the Cardinals at home.

Philadelphia: For the first and probably only time in my life, I was openly rooting for the Eagles this past week. Their dismantling of the Cowboys was tremendous. Furthermore, it means that McNabb and Andy Reid are going to be back next year and the love/hate relationship between those two and the city is fun drama as an outsider. One week, Philly loves those two, the next week they want both gone, good times!

Miami: Good for Chad Pennington and the return of Joey Porter has been fun. Plus, Ricky stayed off the weed!

Washington: While in Kennesaw, I saw a special on the life of Marvin Gaye and it was incredible. I need to get his music in my rotation. We all know about Sexual Healing, Lets Get it On, What’s Going On, etc. However, I listened to some songs from the album, Let’s Get It On and was moved. Here’s a track from that album:

BTW, Marvin was born in Washington, D.C. for connection to the Redskins.

New England: Cassel is a Ram next year, just throwing it out there.

Dallas: All that has needed to be said has been said about these guys. They are what they are. Romo is a mess, Owens is Coach Killer 1.0, Phillips isn’t the right coach for them, Jason Garrett made the weakest 3.5 million dollars ever for a coach, Pacman and Tank were, well, Pacman and Tank. Reality is that you can’t fire the owner.

Jets: Good job getting Mangini fired Farve. Read this article for prospective: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9001016/Mangini-has-Favre-to-thank-for-pink-slip

Wow, Brett, Heaven forbid your head coach criticizing you for your play. You make me sick. Go back to Mississippi and talk about spending more time with your family, jerk. You deserved to lose that game on Sunday. I don’t want to see you ever again in my life. If you’re in a game, I’m changing the channel, unless you’re playing the Giants or Titans. Furthermore, if you ruin my summer again with your retirement B.S., I’m going to find you and make you hurt.

Other than that, all is well.

Broncos: Shanahan getting fired is a joke but I kinda understand where they’re going with that.

As all of you know, I’m a big fan of Jay Cutler. Heck, I update you every week about his March Towards Canton. I’m also a fair critic and while he was asked to do a lot with a weak running game, you can’t blow that division lead. You have to find a way to win that Buffalo game at home. Once they lost that game, they’re was no way they were winning at San Diego. Denver isn’t that far off. They just need to get a running back, improve offensive line play, redo the whole defense and find a new head coach. That’s not too hard.

Atlanta: I’ve liked to Bombs over Baghdad for Outkast but this is really my favorite song from them (possibly NSFW, meaning you can listen to it but don’t blast it in your office):

Tampa: Does Jon Gruden need to worry about his job? Seriously, if Mike Shanahan can get the can at Denver, Gruden can’t be safe. If I was Jon, I would just skim the resume just in case because losing to Oakland at home is not good.

Baltimore: Ed Reed is my Defensive MVP.

Pittsburgh: Don’t understand why Big Ben was in the game, but that’s the way they want to handle things, I can’t complain.

Indy: Manning is my overall MVP and as a follower of the Titans, fans need to be very concerned about these guys.

Carolina: Steve Smith must be mad at the world.

Tennessee: Hate to be the bearer of bad news but these guys aren’t making the Super Bowl.

Giants: Neither are they…actually, I think they will but it’s going to be a struggle.

MMA Review

Sorry for this pathetic edition of MMA Review, but I was out of town yesterday and just got back to Nashville.

I wanted to do an extensive review of all of the fights for UFC 92 which takes place in a few hours but life gets in the way and we will keep it moving. I’ll give you the quick predictions of the three main fights and then next week, I will be able to give you complete analysis of the event as well as my year-end awards.

Wanderlei Silva vs. Rampage Jackson: These two have an extended history between the two of them with Silva winning both previous matchups with devastating knockouts. In fact, the second one was one of the most devastating knees that I’ve ever seen.

However much has changed since these two last faced each other several years ago. Rampage seems more focused on fighting and becoming a professional and this has helped him greatly in the UFC. Silva is still doing his thing but we haven’t seen a vintage Axe Murderer performance in a while. Rampage has also left his long time manager and training camp for a new one and you should always be unsure of a fighter doing this before a big fight.

In the end, I’m going to pick Rampage to win the fight by decision.

Frank Mir vs. Minotaro Nogueira: I’m going to preface this with saying that I’m a big Frank Mir fan. I think that Mir is more athletic, younger both in age and in physical abuse to the body and has incredible motivation to fight. I can really see Mir pulling off this win.

In the end, Nog will pull out this win. Even though Nog is battered and been though some wars, he has had 11 months off to recover his body. This is huge. If Nog only had about two or three months between fights, I would take Mir in a heartbeat. I just think that Nog has better hands, more stamina and is even better on the ground than Mir, which is significant because Frank’s strength is on the ground. Nog isn’t going to submit, he’s too tough. I don’t think Mir is going to be submitted either. I can see Nog knocking Frank out. I doubt that Frank can knock Nog out.

I see Nog by decision.

Rashad Evans vs. Forrest Griffin: I can see this one going many ways. I like the talents of both guys. I have to give Evans credit. When I saw his first few fights, I thought that he was going to be a jabber who just rode takedowns to decision victories for his entire career. However, he has started to loosen up and let his hands and kicks go. Now, he is showing knockout power.

Griffin always fight an exciting style and his submission of Shogun and subsequent decision over Rampage was impressive. However, Forrest doesn’t possess the knockout power of Evans.

When the fight hits the ground, Griffin does have the advantage. I’m going to take Griffin by submission in the fourth round. Forrest is going to grind on Rashad for the first three rounds, wear him out and then submit him in the later rounds.

That’s it. Sorry for the brevity.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Krazy Kwanzaa (yes, crazy with a “k”) a festive Festivus and every other holiday that I’m forgetting.

First, here is my favorite Christmas song of all-time…

#1 Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Bruce Springsteen

Perfect song by the only artist I can comprehend singing it.

So this Christmas, I always think of the best gifts and worst gifts that I used to get.

The two best ones came on consecutive years. The Christmas of 1986, I got a My Buddy Doll, the black version and it was the best gift I’ve ever got. I used to celebrate birthdays with him, prepare him for school, comb his hair, the works. I still have him to this day and dress him up. Don’t laugh and I’ll fight you to the end if you want to go there.

Then in the next year, I got a Nintendo system and that was awesome as well. I played so many hours of Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt I would dream about it in my sleep. I played my Nintendo system so much it literally died on me. Those of us between the ages of 25 and 35 know what that feeling is like. I think I was playing RC Pro AM and the game wouldn’t start. I restarted and restarted, did the blow into the game cartridge trick, everything and nothing worked. Finally, I gave up and threw it away, sad moment.

The rest of my Christmases consisted of getting underwear that was uncomfortable to wear, ugly sweaters and socks, lots and lots of socks.

Over time I’ve grown to accept this and realize that its not about what you get, its about the positive vibes you put out there. I think it was the Beatles or one of my uncles who said that the love you take is equal to the love you make. I try to live that way.

So now, its time for me to go and spend time with the family. Talk to ya’ll tomorrow.

My Top-Five Favorite Christmas Songs, Part II

Hey, sorry for not posting my Christmas content yesterday, but stuff got in the way.

I’m going to list my favorite Christmas songs from number 4-2 and post my favorite one tomorrow morning on Christmas.

#4: U2 with It’s Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

I like U2 and this is a catchy tune. When I worked in a retail store during the holiday season a few years ago and it was brutal. This was one of the songs that we played in our music rotation that I actually liked. The annoying part about this was that I had to listen to Christmas songs from early November to Christmas Eve.

When we opened the store the day after Christmas, I was so happy because we didn’t have to play Christmas music anymore, glory to the highest. Another annoying thing about this time of year was when people would return items and get pissed at me that the person that gave the gift to them got the wrong item, whether it was size or color or whatever. Don’t get mad at me that your daughter got you an extra large when you need a 2X shirt.

#3: Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC

This was a good song back home in the NYC because it was a rap song that tied into the true feelings of Christmas for young cats like me during that time. We can all remember eating collard greens and fried chicken during this time of year. Good song.

Tie for #2: David Bowie and Bing Crosby with Little Drummer Boy

Such an odd pairing but it works. This is a classic song that you have to respect during this time of the year.

Silent Night by the Temptations

This song brings back so many memories. My mother would play this for me when we were decorating the house or preparing the Christmas tree. I would even finalize my list for Santa, get the milk out and the cookies and it was on.

What are your favorite songs? What do you think my #1 song is? I’ll give you a clue, its by an American male. That’s it. Tomorrow, you will get my top song and memories of Christmas’ past.

NFL Review for Week 16 and The March to Canton for Jay Cutler takes another hit...

Its time for that NFL Review.

The good part of this time of year is that you get time off and there are a lot of TV marathons on and I happened to catch the top-100 hip hop songs on VH1. Disagreed with some of the choices. How is The Show with Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick not in the top-20?

Anyway, this gave me a chance to connect with some of my favorite artists and I’ve loved over the years. I’ll highlight them throughout my review, starting with Outkast.

I’ve been a fan of these guys since Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, but a big reason for that was that I would come down to Atlanta every summer to see my brother back in the day and they were played a lot. However, with the song below, they took it to another level.

On to the Review…

Detroit: Looks like they’re going to go 0-16. That’s sad.

However, let me tell you something. I won my fantasy football league this week, yeah, exciting and good times. However, besides Philip Rivers turning into the MVP of our league, two guys that were the most consistent on my team were Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith. Thank goodness that real wins and losses don’t translate to fantasy football.

I still feel the same way about the whole city of Detroit and the “bailout” plan.

Cincinnati: Only one more week before I can finally end writing about these guys.

St. Louis: For the last time this season, lets’ Ram it!

Kansas City: Their loss to Miami isn’t really shocking, but the continued improvement of the play of Tyler Thigpen has been surprising. Interesting article in the Kansas City Star discussing the lack of production by Glenn Dorsey by Jason Whitlock.

Seattle: I’m watching the Desperate Housewives of Orange County and completely don’t comprehend this show. They’re so much complaining, bitching, bickering, money being spent in stupid ways, it’s a lifestyle that I can’t comprehend. I’ve always said that if I ever came upon a lot of money, I would still live the humble life that I live now, even down to continuing to be cheap.

Oakland: What I should have been watching all of tonight was the Boise State/TCU contest. I just can’t get into bowl games. Back in the day, I would watch every single bowl game, make predictions and everything. However, I’ve found a life and now it takes an effort for me to watch the games. There are just too many of them to follow.

I think I’m entering a similar stage with NFL teams. I really only follow the Giants, Titans and Falcons on a semi-daily basis. That’s what makes this Review difficult at times because I’ve begun not to care about half the teams in the league like the Raiders. It’s not an insult to the team or the fans, I just have more important things going on in the life of Marcel.

Jacksonville: I was a huge fan of Naughty by Nature. They brought it to a high level and repped for Jersey, which I always respected. Everyone likes to play OPP or Hip Hop Hooray but I always liked Uptown Anthem because it was off of the Juice soundtrack, one of my favorite movies. Here’s the video for this song, but don’t blast it if you’re at work because there are some curse words so its gets the dreaded NSFW, but if you’re home, blare the hell out of it.

Cleveland: Things continue to get better and better for these guys. Not only are they allegedly having infights with Brady Quinn fighting an offensive lineman, now Braylon Edwards is lashing out at the fans. I usually don’t like fans, but Braylon needs to learn how to play the game and just say the whole “this season has been bad and we’ve tried but we will work hard this offseason to improve” line. Fans love that stuff. Instead he called out the fans and said that he wasn’t going to do charity work in Cleveland anymore, not a good move.

San Francisco: Props to Mike Singletary for turning that team around. He should get a serious look at getting the coaching job permanently.

San Diego: Without Philip Rivers, not only do I lose my fantasy football league, the Chargers wouldn’t have the chance to win the AFC West. How has this happened?

Green Bay: I don’t know who to blame for their season falling short of expectations, but you have to look at that defense.

Houston: Another 8-8 season. This is getting to an annoying point of repetitive and I’m not even a fan.

Buffalo: Thinking of Buffalo at this time makes me realize why I moved out of New York for college and haven’t looked back. I don’t understand how people an live that way in the cold weather. Some people love it but I want no part of that. It reached the 20’s here in Nashville and I was freezing my butt off. I know that I’ve gotten soft over the years but still.

New Orleans: They looked like the 1989 49ers last week against Detroit. Brees is going to break Dan Marino’s passing record and I will tune into CBS to see Dan mockingly congratulate Drew. Looking forward to that. However, to defend Dan’s lack of happiness discussing Brees the whole season, first, that is a major record and if you held it and saw someone break it, you would be a little peeved about it. Second, Marino did it during a season where he made it to the Super Bowl and his team won while the Saints are struggling.

Chicago: Most boring team in the NFL, I hate watching them. I posted a clip from Seinfeld here last week and loved it, so I must do it again. A tribute to George.

Arizona: So how many points will they be a underdog against in the wild card round for their home game? Five, six points? They should be embarrassed by that performance at New England. I haven’t seen someone freak out that badly with snow since a coke addict who just got out of rehab. I’m here all week and don’t forget to tip your waitress.

Philadelphia: I guess the battle between them and Dallas will not only determine a playoff spot but who gets to keep their jobs. Good times. Honestly I think that the fans are still giddy over the Phillies yet saddened that the Roots are the house band for Jimmy Fallon’s new talk show.

Miami: Jimmy Fallon has a frickin talk show, seriously, if you told me that three years ago, I would have smacked you and told you to get off the smack. Similar to if you told me that the Dolphins would be in line to win a division title after winning only one game last season. I wouldn’t have smacked you but I would have scolded you.

Washington: Zorn should get another year with the Redskins. Back to the rap videos.

My favorite group growing up in the early 90’s was without a doubt the Wu Tang Clan. I could name all of the members, their history and everything. 36 Chambers of Death is a classic album that you need to get right now. I liked Protect Ya Neck and Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ but I’ll embed C.R.E.A.M below. This song was so literal for me and I knew all of those stories from the staircases to the robbing, the beatdowns, everything because I experienced some of that.

New England: So who will sign Matt Cassel as a free agent? My bet is on Detroit because I think that San Fran and K.C. like their current QBs and are going to spend money elsewhere. Look out for Philly if they get rid of McNabb and Minnesota as well.

Dallas: Losing to Baltimore at home makes me not care about them.

Jets: They’re going to lose to Miami at home and not make the playoffs, making all of the Favre worshipers sad which would make my year.

Anyway, here’s some Kurtis Blow:

Funny thing about Kurtis. He was the first ever concert I was in attendance of. What do you mean Marcel? Well, when my mother was pregnant with me, she went to a Kurtis Blow/Bob Marley concert at Madison Square Garden. My mom rocks!

Broncos: Cutler made the Pro Bowl, which helps the March but that will all be negated if they lose the division to San Diego. Jay, get it together!

Atlanta: Story of the NFL season with all due respect to Detroit and Miami for various reasons. Their coach left them in the middle of the season last year. Their former franchise quarterback is in prison. Fans were turning the whole situation to a racial issue, which shouldn’t be scuffed at in a city like Atlanta.

Look at them now. Tremendous. For that, here’s a Ludacris and Young Jezzy video. If I ever became a mixed martial arts fighter, I would come out to this song (NSFW):

Tampa: This song propelled me to try my first alcohol mix drink back in high school. Play the video and that will make sense.

Baltimore: Nice win over Dallas and are going to be a tough out for whoever they face in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh: Why are we treating that annoying Terrible Towel like the American Flag. They’re a good team.

Indy: Consistent and Manning is my MVP this season at this stage.

Carolina: Game effort against the Giants. I want no part of them again as a Giants fan.

Tennessee: I loved that they stomped on the Terrible Towel because it shows the stupidity of fans actually caring about this. If the Steelers need more motivation to beat the Titans in the playoffs because of a stupid towel, then the Titans are going to win the game by a lot. Here’s the video below. White should have spit on it as well, I would have.

Giants: Happy that they won against Carolina, liked the running game, its late and Christmas Eve is soon. Have a good night.

My Top-Five Favorite Christmas Songs Countdown Part I

I dislike holiday songs, especially Christmas songs. Look, we get it, its Christmas time, joy to the world, peace on earth, yada, yada, yada.

Here are my two main beefs with the songs.

1) They are way too positive. I like a happy song here and there but I don’t want to be bombarded with it all the time. I can understand people wanting positive songs this time of year but that doesn’t excuse reason #2, which is…

2) We start hearing these song too darn early. Only now should we be hearing Christmas songs, about a week before the actual day. I don’t need to be hanging out in early November and start hearing Silent Night on the radio. Its too early and really speaks to the commercialization of the entire holiday which is disgusting. Another subject for later this week.

OK, lets get to my countdown to my five favorite Christmas songs of all time:

I had a tie for #5

Band Aid with Feed The World:

Classic song, with George Michael, Jodi Watley, Boy George being well, Boy George and a cast of other characters. Phil Collins rocking the drums. Duran Duran was the truth!!!! Bono’s line is a little crass but gets the message across.

Last Christmas by Wham! (the exclamation point is part of the band’s name and not my like of the group, just want to make that clear)

Just a nice simple melody. When I was working at a clothing store three Christmas’ ago and it was brutal. I’ll give more details about this experience tomorrow. But the one shining light was the final song in my tie of songs.

This Christmas by Christina Aguilera. Upbeat song.

OK, that’s it. My song for tomorrow is done by a group from Ireland. That was a layup.

Sunday Reflections

Hey people’s its time for my Sunday Reflections!

First, I was listening to some Pandora and this song by The Cure came up and it was tremendous. Listen to it for your viewing pleasure:

-I’m going to count down my five favorite Christmas songs starting tonight in a separate post. Looking forward to that despite the fact that I hate Christmas songs…ok, hate is a strong word, dislike is probably more appropriate.

-The Giants, Titans and Falcons all won today and are now in the playoffs. Two of them even have home-field advantage in their respective conferences. The Falcons making the playoffs is completely surprising. I’ll comment more on this on Tuesday in my NFL Review, but I feel too fortunate being an NFL fan right now when my three favorite teams are doing so well.

-I got roped into a lot of TV today for some reason. I was supposed to work on some personal stuff, go shopping, clean the house, etc. However, I was lazy and stayed in and relaxed and watched TV for hours, something I haven’t done in months. TV marathons rock!

-I was flipping around and ended up on Bravo watching some episodes of the Real Housewifes of Orange County. I’ve seen episodes here and there in the past but never got into it. Between watching the Titans game, I was watching a marathon of this show and it was crazy. The amount of money these women spend was ridiculous. They were also so mean to each other and even members of their own family. Also, some of them had some “golddigger” aspects to them which disturbed me. Odd show.

-I also watched some episodes of Scrubs and that’s always a good time.

-Whenever I’m in on a Saturday night, I’m really loving watching repeats of House. I’m falling in love with that show and now that Olivia Wilde is on the show, it is on.

That’s Olivia. That’s what I thought.

-One show that I have mocked endlessly was the Shot of Love with Tila Tequilla on MTV when it was on. I have nothing against lesbians and have associated with many over the years, but the fact that there was a show with a bi-sexual woman dating both men and women at the same time in one house was just icky to me. I guess there was a contestant from one of the shows who is now looking for love.

The new person looking for love is also a bi-sexual and I must admit kind of cute. Well, she has brought men and women on the show, like Tila but there is a twist. She has a twin sister who is also bisexual and is on the show as well looking for love. And at that moment, I changed the channel and will not be watching that show again.

-I also spent this weekend, especially last night, watching way too many youtube clips of Rowdy Roddy Piper. I just rented a DVD on his life and it was awesome! That dude was so funny, I haven’t laughed out loud so hard watching old wrestling clips in a long time.

I suggest you look up some of these clips and be amazed. I may even post some here and there in the next few weeks.

-I also saw some comedy from Ron White, who is so funny. I have a clip below, there are some curse words, so it may be NSFW:

That’s all from me. This week may be weird with posting because of Christmas but I will try my best to keep stuff up-to-date. Until then, good fight, good night.

MMA Review

Sorry for the MMA Review being a day late. First, the Crush of the Day is the Karate Hottie, aka Michelle Waterson.

Yeah, she’s not ugly and can actually fight. She’s been with Strikeforce and will probably stick with them. I first remember her from Fight Girls on the Oxygen network and have been a fan ever since. Let’s get to my thoughts:

-I wish I had more to say about this last season of the Ultimate Fighter on Spike which ended last Saturday. I’ve actually a fan of Frank Mir and Nogueria and wanted to support the show but after watching the actions of Junie Browning I stopped watching. I’m sure that they’re were some talented fighters on the show and I did catch some of the finale and liked what I saw but I was tired of seeing drunken stupidity take place.

I want to see the fighting and that’s all. These guys are professionals who are practice their craft and the bastardization of it by people like Junie is disgusting. Furthermore, when he is awarded with getting a fight on TV on the finale, what can I say.

-Looking very forward to the Ultimate 2008 show next Saturday by the UFC. My full preview will be next week, but right now, I’m leaning towards Rampage, Mir and Griffin.

-The Japanese MMA promoters surely know how to kick off a new year with their annual New Year’s Eve shows. The Crocop vs. Man Choi fight will be a spectacle and seeing Sakuraba fight is always cool.

-Watch out for Bobby Lashley. He won his first fight this week and he was a former WWF champion. He has the physical skills and background to be a good fighter.

-Tito Ortiz needs to seriously decide if he’s going to fight at all and choose a company. Now he’s being a commentator for the Affliction show in January, which is cool and all, but don’t tease fans with talking about fighting again. Just retire, focus on business and keep it moving.

That’s all for now. Your feedback is welcome. Remember to check out Pro MMA at http://promma.info/

So the end of the "tapout" is off to an interesting start...

First, some music from Bob Dylan, who is from the home state of the women who is the subject of this post:

You may not find a bigger fan of Jimi Hendrix than me, but I’m severely torn between which version of All Along the Watchtower I prefer, but that’s another debate for another day.

When I announced the end of my “tapout” to the millions and millions of my blog readers, I made a promise to take any opportunity to expand my social horizons and that includes dating. Plus, I get to spread the love of Marcel, which everyone should have a chance at.

Of course, there are some like Roberta, who was offered an opportunity yesterday and blew it today because she said that guys are stupid and I’m not down with that, so it’s a wrap.

However, I made my first attempt at trying to legitimately ask a girl out on a date.

It was Julie, who has been mentioned on this blog in the past. Read here for some background info: http://pourtoutpancakes.blogspot.com/2008/09/sunday-reflections_21.html

We’re friends and have gotten to know each other over the past year. I’ve always liked her, we share come common interests, she’s cute and wanted to go out with her. I was out on Saturday night and we ran into each other and had a nice chat. I then realized that she would be someone that I would like to break the tapout with.

My plan was to ask her out for this weekend when I finally have some free time. I saw her and we were talking about stuff and I asked her what she was doing this weekend. Since it’s the holiday season, she is heading out of town so that killed that idea.

So then I told Julie that when she gets back into town that we should get together and do something, maybe bowling.

OK, I have to explain the bowling mention. I officially ended the tapout on Saturday night and on Sunday morning, I saw my incredibly attractive neighbor at the laundry and told her that I wanted to ask Julie out and what would be a nice first date suggestion. I wanted to have an activity to mention to Julie when I asked her out because I wanted to sound assertive, which the ladies apparently love. So my neighbor told me that I should invite her to bowling because its an activity that you can talk about and not be bored with.

I tell Julie this and she tells me that yes, she would like to do something with me like bowling, something she hasn’t done in a long time. Plus, she’s always busy working or in school and I really want to do a fun activity with her to help her relax.

I’m like, great, I have a date in waiting. Then she tells me that we can get together with some of our friends and do it. I said OK and went on my way.

I really meant for the get together to be just the two of us and not with our common friends. I wanted to go back to Julie and tell her that I meant just the two of us. I stood there for 10 minutes and tried to come up with excuses to start talking to her again. In the end I decided that I wasn’t going to bug her and moved on.

But I realized that if I was going to go at this properly, I needed to man up and take charge. So I saw Julie again later that day and asked for her telephone number because even with all of the interaction that we had this past year, I never got it. I just always saw her.

So I got the number and we’ll be back in town around the same time. I said that I would call her when I got back to Nashville. I know of a place that she really wants to eat in town and maybe we can have lunch or dinner there. Maybe I can stick with the bowling. Maybe we can go line dancing, finally attend a box social, I don’t know.

However, it did feel good to get out there and try. Your advise is always welcomed.

NFL Review Week 15 and No Update on Cutler's March Towards Canton...how do you lose like that at Carolina, they quit...lets just get to the post!

It’s time for that NFL Review:

I like to play some different artists when doing this post but I’m sticking with the Volta today in the concert that made me a huge fan. Its below, sorta loud and over 45 minutes long, so if you’re playing it at work, be forwarned. BTW, its totally safe for work, no cursing or anything just the most mindblowing music you’ve listened to in a while:

I’ll make a quick mention of my fantasy football team and keep it moving. I’ve made it to the championship week and I’m very happy about it. I’ll give you the details of the final results next week.

Detroit: I was reading an interview with Jemele Hill recently and she was talking about how the auto makers “bailout” is a loan, and said if this whole thing was happening in Texas or Florida, then things may be different. Click the link and read it yourself: http://blog.mlive.com/flintjournal/its_just_sports/2008/12/espn_page_2s_jemele_hill_discu.html

You know what, I’m tired of the bitching. She even tries to play the “Black athlete is a victim card.”

THEY BROKE THE DAMN LAW!

Michael Vick, criminal. Plaxico Burress, you carry around an unlicensed gun, criminal. Pacman Jones, uber criminal.

People lose jobs, people die, life sucks. I’m tired of people looking for bailouts and ways to get out of situations. If life screws with you, make some damn adjustments and keep it moving.

That’s why I’ve learned to have no sympathy for anyone in 99% of situations in life. Especially sports fans and that brings me back to Detroit. If you are a Lions fan, its your own damn fault if you feel bad about them losing. No one is forcing you to watch this embarrassment of a team. Find a damn life and move on.

BTW, the Lions are winning one of their final two games.

Cincinnati: Surprising win over Washington. Gave the fans something to cheer about. Actually, screw those fans! I don’t care about the Bengals.

St. Louis: Rams are awful and this is your last chance to see this tremendous video below. Ram it!

Kansas City: This is turning into a “what is Marcel pissed about now” post, but it is what it is. I’m flipping the channels tonight and watching the finale of the Biggest Loser. Look, I don’t want to crap on anyone’s parade…who am I kidding, I like doing that at times. Happy that those people have changed their lives and are getting healthy and all of that crap but I don’t like how such a premium is put on the show on losing X amount of pounds to be considered successful.

Its like, “hey Karen, you lost 70 pounds but Jim lost 75, you lose.” What the hell? We’re so results driven and the process gets stomped on.

Be happy with what you’re working with and don’t let a damn scale determine your worth.

The Chiefs suck too. Lose another lead to San Diego!

Seattle: So the Arena Football League is shutting down for next year. This isn’t good for anybody.

You know what, this post is over. No Marcel, you promised to do a NFL Review so let’s work through it.

Oakland: Damn it, that Hill interview really has me steamed with the woe is me Black athlete stuff. Time to take a deep breath and think about positive things like the Raiders. Honestly, if Penn State can give Paterno a three-year extension when he can be dead by next season, maybe they’re hope for Al Davis turning things around. But getting embarrassed at home by New England isn’t helping.

Jacksonville: Nice win over Green Bay. That’s all I got.

Cleveland: This has been a colossal waste of a season by the Browns. What am I supposed to say about them? Well, that new Natalie Portman commercial about some perfume or diamonds, no clue. OK, its for Coco Chanel apparently. That’s a good looking woman.

San Francisco: Howie Did It has the potential to be an awful show. Didn’t Candid Camera and Punk’d show us all that we need to know from hidden camera shows?

San Diego: These guys are still in the playoff chase. How? Oh yeah a certain team with a quarterback whose picture happens to be above decided to stop playing. We’ll get to them in a moment.

Green Bay: No one should be fired, but 5-9 with that talent shouldn’t be happening.

Houston: Looking forward to the Christmas season. I actually prefer to give gifts than receive them. That’s really true. I’ll have more stuff on this next week. However, the commercialism of it all is unpleasant. Oh, the Texans, good win over Tennessee.

Buffalo: How does that loss happen? Why are you running a roll out play on offense when all you have to do is run the clock out with one of the better running backs in the league? Unbelievable.

New Orleans: Looks like the odd team out of the playoffs.

Chicago: Watching Seinfeld repeats every night at 9 p.m. calms me after bad days and when I’m irritable like tonight. Maybe my favorite George-focused episode. Just try me, I would love it!

Arizona: Not a good omen when Minnesota comes in and beats you like that. I think that they may have been partying it up too much.

Philadelphia: Philly and McNabb are the kings of this move. Play terrible for a few games, rally for a few wins, make the playoffs, lose, start the new season, get the fans mad and the cycle continues. They have the chance to be a 10-win team.

Miami: Do you realize that these guys have nine wins? From one win to nine in one season with two games to play. Amazing.

Washington: I expected the Jim Zorn collapse to happen in the middle of next year but this is early.

If you haven’t seen the video of President Bush being attacked by shoes, its below. Look, I don’t like the guy and all but that was scary.

New England: Winning at Oakland isn’t too impressive. How about those Celtics though. They are defending their championship properly. Rondo has emerged as a major player as well. I don’t see anybody beating these guys over a seven-game series accept maybe Cleveland and the Lakers, and that’s it.

Dallas: I’m not even going to acknowledge the off-field soap opera drama of this team but will say that the defense looked good against the Giants.

Jets: Improbable win by them over the Bills. Speaking of New Jersey, what about the revitalization of Vince Carter and the Nets. They aren’t good, but not awful and Vince Carter has been doing decent. Devin Harris needs to be an All-Star, but back to Vince.

Give me this Vince from 2000 and I would be a happy man.

Broncos: Cutler’s March to Canton is turning into a walk with a slight limp. Just win the division, Jay, just win.

Atlanta: I don’t know if I’m ready to give Matt Ryan the MVP award but his rookie season isn’t the norm.

Tampa: They can either not make the playoffs, lose badly in the playoffs, win two games and face a familiar team in Carolina in the NFC title game or anything else at this stage. I have no idea.

Baltimore/Pittsburgh: Both of these teams are pretty much equal and I don’t see how you can call that Holmes catch a touchdown at the end of the game.

Indy: I’m tired of seeing these guys in the playoffs, but you have to respect their consistency. Between the soap opera in Dallas, the Spygate era in New England, the Giants now dealing with Plaxico, the Packers having the whole Favre saga, San Diego imploding as we speak, Philly and its love/hate relationship with McNabb and now Andy Reid, Seattle becoming very bad especially with Holmgrem leaving, Indy and Pittsburgh are really the solid foundations of the league for the past decade, really.

Carolina: Big game under the bright lights on Sunday night at the Giants. Win this one and they are the NFC favorites. That offense worries me as a Giants fan.

Tennessee: Hopefully these guys haven’t peaked too early. I understand why Fisher went for the fourth down instead of kicking the field goal. I must admit that I didn’t watch the game live and when I look at decisions like Fisher did, I like to know what I would have done at that moment. However, looking at the highlights, I understand the call. Collins just missed the pass. The injuries to the defensive line have to be troublesome.

Giants: That Cowboys game was a culmination of if everything goes wrong at once. The offence was stagnant, runners like Tashard Choice (Georgia Tech, represent!) getting yards on the defense. However, the Giants were still in that game till the end. They are still the favorites in the NFC until Sunday night, maybe.

OK, that may have been my weakest NFL Review this year and sorry for the cranky nature, but if you’re a fan of this blog, you know me by now.

No Crush or Random Observations tonight, I’m going to sleep. Come back tomorrow!

OK, one more song:

Crush of the Day and Observations

Hey people, quick turnaround tonight for my Random Observations and Crush of the Day.

Let’s start with the Crush, Rosario Dawson! I must apologize to Rosario for not completely acknowledging her properly in my top-five breakdowns. She’s tremendous and not a bad actress to boot. She’s from the NYC and I remember seeing her in the movie Kids.

Looking at her career, I’ve seen darn near all of her movies. Rent, He Got Game, Men in Black II, the piece of crap Josie and the Pusseycats, Alexander, Sin City, I’ve seen them all. I actually didn’t see Grindhouse, so I take that back. She’s going to be in the new Will Smith movie, Seven Pounds, so I will be checking that out also.

The thing I’m not down with is that she dated Jason Lewis for two years, you know, Samantha’s boyfriend from Sex and the City. Yes, I watched the show, stop laughing at me. I will say this, I can acknowledge the attractiveness of a man and that is a good looking dude and I’m jealous. She also hooked up with Pacey, aka Joshua Jackson from Dawson’s Creek. Now she’s involved with some French DJ. In other words, she isn’t down with the Black man and I can’t work around that.

She’s also involved greatly in a lot of charities which is cool. But she’s also hot and that’s cooler.

-One post that I’m going to have to do is about old school game shows on TV. I caught a puzzle or two on Wheel of Fortune and loved it. I was awful with that show. However, Jeopardy, I would kick some butt, I take all challengers.

-Finally saw Semi Pro. Didn’t like it. That is all.

-Crap, y’all need some music. Here’s some Pink Floyd with a tremendous song, Us and Them. Play it in your place of work and chill out for a few minutes, you need to relax.

You hired him to coach your football team? Really?

First a video that relates to my topic and for your general enjoyment:

Since I started working in college athletics and had the desire to operate my own athletic department, I’ve begun to understand one concept. You have to make decisions based on what you think is best for your program.

This edition of the coaching carolsel for this college football offseason has been interesting. First, there were two black coaches, Tyrone Willingham of Washington and Ron Price of Kansas State being fired from their jobs. Of course, the grandstanding media were quick to point out that two black men were fired and now there were only a handful of minority coaches in college football. Honestly, as a black man, I could care less.

With the wretched state of this economy, the embarrassing War in the Middle East and the rest of the atrocities that are taking place in this country, the hiring practices of athletic departments are very low on my priority list and it should be for you too.

So that opened up jobs and places like Tennessee, Syracuse and other places took suit. The first hiring that confused me was Lane Kiffin at Tennessee. I know that Butch Davis was spoken to but really, Brian Kelly and Mike Leach weren’t really approached and you settled on him, OK, your school, your choice. Its just odd that Lane’s failure as an NFL coach made him qualified to handle a multi-million dollar operation, which is what UT is. He better be prepared. Tennessee is a unique situation.

Then Washington hired Sarkisian from USC. Seriously, all because someone was an assistant at USC doesn’t mean that he’s going to become Pete Carroll. I don’t know how Leach didn’t get this job, he even interviewed for it. Now Leach may have said no to the position, so we don’t know that.

However, the culmination of the whole coaching scenario for this offseason was Auburn. First, I don’t live in Alabama, am not a fan of Auburn and honestly don’t care how they operate. My feelings towards that school are very neutral.

While I said that when you run your own athletic department, you have to make decisions that you think are best for the program, you also have to consider your continuancy. And that’s what Auburn and specifically Jay Jacobs, their AD failed to do. That’s why you see the video above.

Auburn got rid of a man who won 85 games and beat Alabama for six consecutive seasons before this year. I don’t know why the administration, or lets keep it honest, the boosters, never liked him. Remember the whole Bobby Petrino debacle a few years ago?

OK, you get rid of Tubberville and come up with that lame excuse that he resigned yet is getting his full money. You don’t give money to someone that quits a job so we really know what’s going on there.

So now you decide to speak to the following people: Ball State's Brady Hoke, Louisiana Tech's Derek Dooley, Buffalo's Turner Gill, TCU's Gary Patterson, Wake Forest's Jim Grobe, Tulsa's Todd Graham, Georgia assistant Rodney Garner and Miami offensive coordinator Patrick Nix. Furthermore, Leach wasn’t even approached.

I must sound like Leach’s agent right now, but the guy is a good coach.

All of them are more qualified than the guy you end up hiring, Gene Chizik of Iowa State. Dude was about to be fired at Iowa State and you give him the keys to, according to the Peoples’ Champion, a top-15 job in the nation. Really?

Of course, the Turner Gill rejection has gotten people all in a tissy, especially Auburn alum Charles Barkley who has decided to make public the issues of a black man with a white wife becoming a head coach of a major program in Alabama.

I would be naïve to say that race may not play a part in this but I think its more ineptitude by Auburn than racism.

Chizik can get to Auburn and become a coaching legend for all we know, but I just don’t see it.

So, kids, what have we learned from all of this besides nothing. Well, lets stick with nothing and call it a night.

Sunday Reflections

Its time for those Sunday Reflections!

As usual, you need some music:

-Sorry that I didn’t have an MMA Review for you this past Friday. This was the last week of my semester and I had a lot of work due. I promise to have one for this Friday and you’re going to love the Crush of the Day that connects with it. She actually may be hotter than Gina Carano. The hint is that her nickname does include a variation of the word “hot.” Discuss

-Speaking of which, this semester is over for me and I’m happy yet kinda sad about it in only one way. I appreciate the time off and want to work on some me time, but I do miss seeing my classmates. I really don’t mind going to class most of the time because I’m learning and also it’s a way for me to see my friends. All of us are going our separate ways for the holidays and that’s a bummer a little.

-I have some of my friends graduating from my program this Friday and one of them, Chris is heading back home to Louisiana. I’m reaching that stage that friends are going to start leaving and that’s going to make me sad. A bunch of us are graduating in May and we’re all going to go get jobs around the country and I won’t see them often anymore.

I will shed a tear because that’s how I roll.

-So Sam Bradford won the Heisman. Honestly, I stopped caring about this award a long time ago when guys like Joe Hamilton and Tommie Frazier didn’t get it. I usually check online or watch the news and see who won. I haven’t watched that drawn out made-for-TV ceremony on ESPN for years. No interest. However, for the record, I was going for Colt McCoy. I guess Tebow got the most first-place votes, so I guess this works like the electoral college when someone like Al Gore can win the popular vote yet get the election stolen from him from someone like George Bush. Not that I’m bitter about that or anything.

I guess the whole what party do I usually support mystery is out at this stage.

The thing I didn’t like is how people left Tebow off of their ballot. I can understand going for Bradford or McCoy or even Harrell over Tebow but to leave Tim off the ballot is a joke. I guess you had those people who think that he shouldn’t win the award two times but that’s dumb.

-Some Incubus:

-I left a message on my Facebook last night that my “Tapout” needed to end. For those of you not familiar with this concept, look it up on the blog.

However after some thoughts and reflections, I know that the Tapout is definitely over. It needs to end. First, I have needs. Second, I’ve been patient enough and worked out some of my issues. Finally, I need to put myself out there some more.

I’m going to be smarter this time around and not put out there everytime I interact with a woman but you will keep it honest with y’all when appropriate. E. Marcel is back out there and ladies, be prepared.

-I start learning French this week and am excited about it. I’ll tell y’all at some point what my second life improvement project will be and remember, it involves my fingers.

-What is Auburn football thinking? These coaching hires get more and more confusing by the day.

-This weekend, I rented the first season of one of one of my favorite shows ever, Wildboyz. I liked Jackass and loved Viva La Bam, but Wildboyz combined nature and stupidity to a level that will never be matched.

There were some clips that I forgot that made me laugh so hard this weekend, especially the stuff with snakes and birds. I loved that show so much.

-I was in or at the laundry, don’t know which one is grammatically correct, and I saw these two hipsters who were rocking some sweet beards and cowboy boots on a Sunday morning. Tremendous look that I wish that I could pull off. Anyway, I saw them with a New York Times reading it page by page. Who says that print journalism is dead?

-Another note, there was this really cute blond at the laundry rocking the glasses. Ladies, I’m telling you, glasses are such an underrated look.

-People want to be disappointed that Vanderbilt is going to a bowl game for the first time in a generation but will be playing in Nashville. I kinda get that but I thought about this during the week. The Arizona Cardinals have won their first division in nearly 30 years and are going to host their first playoff game since the mid-1940’s. They won an awful division, the NFC West, and will probably lose their playoff game but they have won a division and can now move on to bigger and better things.

Now that Vandy is going to a bowl, it will no longer have to answer the constant questions of when the team will reach that goal. Even if they don’t make another bowl for another 25 years, which is inexcusable, BTW, at least they made this one.

-Some people have been arguing who is hotter, Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox. Its no contest, Angelina kicks Megan’s ass. Fox is cute but extremely overrated.

-That’s all from me. Time to get some rest and watch some CSI: NY and Boston Legal repeats. No promises on post topics or Crushes this week. I will flow with the week.

Finally, watching Wildboyz made me think of an excellent band, HIM. Here’s a song of theirs to ride out to. Good fight, good night.

Cleaning Out the Links VIII

Hey everyone, time to clean out those links and combine them with some Random Observations and maybe sprinkle my Crush of the Day in there as well. Everyone wins, joy for all!

-I just had some Krispy Kreme donuts and while they tasted great, I don’t think that I like them anymore. Back in the day, I would tear up some donuts like that several times a week. However, I’ve been trying to live a healthier life so that I can dominate my future grandchildren in backyard games and donuts don’t fit that lifestyle.

-I just finished writing a term paper for my sports law class and I almost wrote about college athletics National Letters of Intent. I ended up writing about negligence in combat sports but this article by Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated looks at NLIs in depth. It’s a good read: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/seth_davis/11/18/hoop.thoughts/index.html

-I haven’t been able to analyze this site some more, but this is a fun site to check out. It’s called Cot’s Baseball Contracts. Its fun to see the salaries and contract stipulations for players on your favorite teams. You see a contract like Alex Rodriguez and then you see one for someone like Josh Hamilton and its night and day: http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/

-Michael Phelps was named the SI Sportsman of the Year, well deserved, etc. However, going back to the SI Valut, no one touches Wayne Gretzky in 1982. Read this article and you will understand. He did all of this at 21: http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1126259/1/index.htm

-Interesting article in the Wall Street Journal discussing the rise of college football in the South: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122843720586081461.html

-There are some articles you come across that you read and you say to yourself that this isn’t possible. This is one of them. I present to you Michael Vick and his spending habits: http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/falcons/stories/2008/12/06/michael_vick_fortune.html?cxntlid=homepage_tab_newstab

-Excellent interview with Bob Levy of ESPN. He may be one of the only two or three people I can stand on that network and Outside the Lines is always appointment viewing if I ever catch it on TV. He touches on that show and all other things in this interview even though he’s a damn Tottenham fan. Arsenal forever! http://thebiglead.com/?p=9512#more-9512

-Top 20 offensive names of bands. This isn’t safe for work: http://www.iheartchaos.com/2008/11/24/20-of-the-most-profanely-named-bands-ever-i-heart-music/

-Another link not safe for work. Ten great top-10 hottest lists. It makes sense when you read it: http://www.uncoached.com/2008/10/13/ten-really-nice-to-look-at-top-ten-hottest-chick-lists/

For some comic relief, here’s Leon Lett. I remember watching this one live:

-An outstanding college football playoff idea: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=dw-playoff120208&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

-Top-15 Funny Family Guy moments. The link is here: http://manofest.com/index.php?option=com_myblog&show=THE-15-FUNNIEST-FAMILY-GUY-MOMENTS-OF-ALL-TIME.html&Itemid=1#readmore

One of my favorites is below:

-Finally, on Thursdays, I’m going to have a Throwback Crush of the Day. This week it is…

Jaclyn Smith! Hear me out. OK, I know that she’s 61 and that surpasses my 22-37 age range but I will make an exception for her. She is the only reason to watch Shear Genius on Bravo, not that I know anything about that show.

Everyone remembers her from Charlie’s Angel and that was a tremendous moment. Everyone was on Farrah Fawcett, but I was more of a fan of Jaclyn and Kate Jackson when I watched repeats of the show. Plus, her name rocks.

If I had to name something female right now like a baby, tiger, bear, goat, dog, cat, rooster or hen (I forgot which one is a male) or even a panda, it would either be Sophia, Kerry or Jaclyn at the moment.

So that’s the Crush of the Day for this evening, good fight and good night.

Crush of the Day and One Random Observation

First, some chill music from A Perfect Circle. Reunite them Maynard!

Ok, I got a lot of my Random Thoughts into my NFL Review so this is going to be very short because some of you anticipate my Crush of the Day, who today is…

Selita Ebanks! Love her. I remember the first time I saw her about three years ago in the Victoria Secret fashion show on TV and was speechless. I was watching with my teenage nephew and we looked at each other and gave the nod of approval, which is the best endorsement a young woman can have.

She was raised in the NYC, so points for that. Negatives include this:

Damn it, why are two of unfunny loser Nick Cannon’s exes not only on the bench of my top-five, but have been named Crushes of the Day. I knew about Christina Milian but forgot that she was engaged to Cannon.

She also dated my boy Osi Umenyiora for a while but they broke up. I had a more revealing lingerie photo of Selita to post here but some of you who read this blog during work were concerned the last time I posted it, so I’ll refrain.

One Random Observation:

-I’m finally done with my Sports Law paper. That thing was a bear to finish but actually taught me something. I’ll hit on it this weekend.

With that, I’m out.
