NFL Review Week 9 and another setback in the March Towards Canton for Jay Cutler

Hey everyone, its time for the NFL Review.

First, I would be remised or whatever to not mention the Presidential election. I will hit on this hard tomorrow after our new President is elected. But I will say this:

I’m running for President in 2028. By then, I’ll be 47, the perfect age to make it happen. I’m starting the campaign now. More details tomorrow.

OK, you need some music to listen to while reading my post below, so here’s some Mars Volta:

I want to expand on a recent development of Brady Quinn being named the starting quarterback in Cleveland. I know that he was a first round pick last year and for some reason the fans love him, but Browns’ front office, this is not a good move.

First, fans are stupid. OK, that’s harsh. Oh screw it, fans are dumb for the most part when it comes to business decisions. Fans generally don’t think about long-term implications of decisions. They only care about the now and they see Brady on the sideline looking like the answer but I don’t see it.

If he goes out there and becomes an All-Pro, good for him and the team. I could care less about the happiness of Cleveland fans or fans of any team for that matter, including the Giants and Titans.

Anderson is a decent quarterback. I think this is what happened. Ownership is mad at Cleveland’s play this season. They want to distract the fans from the bad play and throw in Quinn because that is good public relations. If the Browns tank this season, its because of the young quarterback. Furthermore the GM Phil Savage and the head coach Romeo Crennel can always play the “hey, you told us to play the young quarterback and he isn’t ready,” card which saves both of their jobs. I don’t approve.

St. Louis: They’re done. You can’t let Arizona roll in there and win that game like that.

Detroit: I mentioned two weeks ago about this team’s relatively tough schedule and how they can go 0-16. They’re halfway there! They had a chance to win that Chicago game and it didn’t happen. But, I’m calling an upset right now. They beat Jacksonville at home this week. It has to happen at some point.

Cincinnati: Welcome back Chad Johnson! You finally showed up for this season. Good for you, going out there and catching those balls, I’m so proud of you young man (sarcasm doesn’t translate as well in print for me. Sorry for my attempt at humor. Moving on)

Kansas City: Check the highlights of their game against Tampa below at the :35 second mark:

That’s the best throw I’ve seen from KC all season and top-five in the entire league this season so far. Can he get some throws at QB?

Oakland: Seeing the development of Matt Ryan of Atlanta compared to JaMarcus Russell makes you wonder what is going on with the Raiders. No NFL team should ever get shut out, especially at home.

Houston: Now I know why I traded Schaub. He’s too injury-prone and that’s going to cost Houston in the end. Also, I’m looking for Mario Williams, you know, first overall pick two years ago, just wanted to put a flyer out there on cyber land for him.

Cleveland: Already talked about them.

Seattle: They’re done.

San Francisco: Bye

Green Bay: Good effort against Tennessee. I liked what I saw from this team. These guys will be heard from in the NFC in the playoffs if they make it in.

San Diego: I’m still done with these guys.

Arizona: The Cardinals hosting their first playoff game in more than 50 years? It can happen if they win the division like they should. Underrated good win at St. Louis.

Miami: Joey Porter Defensive MVP?

New Orleans: Bye week to rest Brees arm and shore up defense.

Minnesota: Only one game out of first and Frerotte is performing decently.

Jets: I said last week that they would finish 7-9 and miss the playoffs. Amend that, they’re going to finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs. If Favre was Joe Quarterback from parts unknown, he would be lambasted in the media for his play but as I always say, the media likes to kiss his ass for being average.

One more thing, if I hear one more time that he’s a damn gunslinger from a reporter or some media member, I’m going to get a gun and show them what a slinger can really do. Just kidding, or am I? No, I don’t like guns but I would put that same reported in a triangle choke if they test my patience.

Indianapolis: They won against New England and I’m not happy about it. I want some new blood.

Here’s some Signal Hill. Yeah, I know that I had them on here last week, but I like these guys:

Atlanta: Unless you have followed Atlanta in the past three years closely like I have, you can’t understand how great this story is. I thought this franchise was done for after Michael Vick and then Bobby Petrino does what he does. Their resurgence with Mike Smith and Matt Ryan is good stuff.

Tampa: Still don’t care

Baltimore: Flacco has shown me more than I expected. And good for Ray Rice to be doing well. He was productive in college at Rutgers and is doing the same in the NFL. Hopefully scouts will look at production as closely as potential in the future.

New England: Them and Indy need to go somewhere we never have to see them again.

Jacksonville: What is going on with this team? Where is the offense?

Chicago: Losing Orton is more important than you think.

Philly: Beating Seattle didn’t show me anything. Win at the Giants next week and then I’ll acknowledge.

Buffalo: Losing to Jets at home not helping cause at all.

Denver: I usually blame the defense in hurting the March Towards Canton for Jay Cutler but he needs to step up his game as well.

Carolina: Bye

Pittsburgh: Only team that can match Tennessee physically in the AFC.

Dallas: I know the offense is struggling without Romo, but Tony doesn’t make tackles.

Tennessee: They’re still going to lose four games this season but getting that win over Green Bay shows some major grit.

Washington: They still scare me as a Giants fan but Pittsburgh dominated them on Monday.

Giants: They beat the crap out of Dallas like I wanted but going to Philly isn’t going to be easy.

That’s what I’ve got. Your thoughts are always welcomed.

Holy Crap!
This is why I don't read your NFL posts... you just summarize what you hear on ESPN and make dumb generalizations!

"Indianapolis: They won against New England and I’m not happy about it. I want some new blood."

That doesn't even make sense!

"Buffalo: Losing to Jets at home not helping cause at all."

You can't get that kind of analysis anywhere else.

"Houston: Now I know why I traded Schaub. He’s too injury-prone and that’s going to cost Houston in the end. Also, I’m looking for Mario Williams, you know, first overall pick two years ago, just wanted to put a flyer out there on cyber land for him."

I don't think your fantasy decisions have much bearing on the fate of an NFL team. Also, Williams has 8 of Houston's 14 sacks this season despite being double-teamed most plays, and would they have been better off with Bush's 294 rushing yards or Young's 110 passing yards this season?

"Green Bay: Good effort against Tennessee. I liked what I saw from this team. These guys will be heard from in the NFC in the playoffs if they make it in."

So you're saying if they make the playoffs we will know that they're in the playoffs?

"Tennessee: They’re still going to lose four games this season but getting that win over Green Bay shows some major grit."

Would you care to elaborate on why a team that started 8-0 will finish 4-4?

"Carolina: Bye"

Amazing stuff.

"Atlanta: Unless you have followed Atlanta in the past three years closely like I have, you can’t understand how great this story is. "

Paraphrased: Unless you followed the team closely you would have never heard about Vick or Petrino. And unless you followed closely, you would not know that they are 5-3 but in third place in their division.

Sorry for the heavy dose of sarcasm, but I feel like this is just lazy compared to the majority of your non-NFL posts.
