I was doing some homework and realized that it’s late, I’m going to forget this stuff and I’m tired…time to blog!
I’m going to try something a little different once again with this NFL Review. I have a music program called Pandora Radio on the internet, seriously recommend it and I have it on a mix right now of various stations, so whatever song comes up from this that I like, I’ll post the video below. BTW, notice the color of the border for the videos. Its intentional. Here’s the first one:
Is it bad that when I would go to churches with candles as a kid, I wanted to dance like Sting in the video. Love the Police!
OK, back to the Review, but first a thought or two:
-Cutler is playing well, above average and I can make an argument that he’s going to make the Pro Bowl this season, which is a beginning prerequisite to making it to Canton. However, his defense has to help him out a little bit. Also, he has to play better on the road. The March is still on track but he needs to make the playoffs this season to speed up the walk but that defense may not let him.
-Rodney Harrison being out for the season…couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Take some HGH and try to come back again you jerk! Never liked that guy, never will. Karma is a bitch, ain’t it!
-Once again to my dear friend Nicole, the Raiders still have no hope but at least have two wins and aren’t the worst team in the league. That battle goes down between Kansas City and Detroit.
Now, lets really get to the quick thoughts with maybe a fantasy football note or two:
St. Louis: Contenders in the NFC West, sad state of division
Detroit: Legit shot of going 0-16, look at their schedule…Enjoy the Colt McCoy Sweepstakes between them and Kansas City.
-Seriously, here’s Detroit’s schedule the rest of the season, in order (home game in CAPS): WASHINGTON, at Chicago, JACKSONVILLE, at Carolina, TAMPA BAY, TENNESSEE, MINNESTOTA, at Indy, NEW ORLEANS and at Green Bay. You see a win there? Didn’t think so.
Here’s some Zoe Keating, a bad ass cello player. I wanted to play Legions (War) but the video was too short so here’s Tetrishead:
Cincinnati: Shut down Palmer for rest of season…should have traded Chad Johnson to Washington when you had the chance
Kansas City: Carl Peterson is one of the worst two or three GM/Presidents in last 20 years in NFL yet it takes place in KC and no one notices…sad state for once proud franchise.
Oakland: Congrats on getting win over Jets…still hopeless
Houston: Beating Lions was like barely outrunning a turtle, praise isn’t deserved and blame should be given for making it closer than it should have been.
Cleveland: So much for welcoming back the offense…clean up your act on and off the field, staph infection is no joke.
I just got Home By The Sea by Genesis, so I’m not going to put that on here because I’ve already done that video before. So, here’s some Peter Gabriel, original lead singer with one of his classics:
Seattle: I actually feel sorry for them, which I never do for professional teams because they are paid to do a job.
San Francisco: Old joke but J.T. O’Sullivan sounds like a good bar name but not a good quarterback.
Green Bay: Ryan Grant, my fantasy football team thanks you for returning to form…Rodgers to Pro Bowl, I say yes.
San Diego: Ten years from now when two or three of these guys are considered the better half of players of their generation like Tomlinson, Cromartie, Merriman, Castillo, McNeil, Gates, Rivers and you see the lack of success they had, no Super Bowl appearances, terrible losses, it will be sad.
Arizona: Bye but made my week last week with that Dallas win, loved that.
Miami: Not good but not terrible
New Orleans: Need to find some consistency on the road.
-Side note on them. Why the heck is their “home” game being played in London against San Diego. If there’s one place that can use as many home games as possible and good business for the surrounding area, its New Orleans. I like the NFL but sometimes it does things that I disagree with and this is one of them.
Minnesota: Might want to practice special teams more and not let Marty Booker run the slowest slant route for a touchdown that I’ve ever seen in a college or pro game. Check it out below, its at around the 2:30 mark but check out the entire highlights if you want:
Jets: Favre is making too many mistakes for average team that needs him to be above-average
Indianapolis: Tennessee best team in division and its not close…that sound you hear is their window closing, its cracked a little but not much.
Atlanta: We’ll see their true makeup this week in Philly.
Tampa: Liked the uniform combo on Sunday, red tops, white bottoms, but liked Garcia even more. Why was he benched in the first place?
Baltimore: Good road win, nothing more.
New England: Matt Cassel may still not be the answer but a good way to cheat is to get the ball to Moss often, just a thought.
Jacksonville: Had a bye and are still most physical team in the league
Chicago: If you thought Kyle Orton would play like this either you love neckbeards, bleed Purdue black and gold or like the sauce or if you think like my Indiana Hoosier fans, all three!
Philly: Needed the bye, get tougher than expected test this week against Atlanta. Here’s an idea, blitz Ryan early and often or as Peter King would say, come off the bus blitzing.
Buffalo: I will always root for these guys, the true New York team as their fans tell me. Too bad they’re going to be in Toronto full-time in five years.
Denver: Defense needs to help out somehow.
Carolina: Good division win, need to become consistent. They have Arizona at home but have to get better on the road.
Pittsburgh: Bengals are helpless so win counts but doesn’t. They and especially me need a healthy Willie Parker to take extra step. Get healthy Willie, sweet Jesus Chrismas, get healthy Willie
Dallas: Some of you (Nicole) mocked me when I said they were overconfident. I thought they were but now I think that they just aren’t focused. Too many distractions and Wade Phillips isn’t a take charge coach. Good guy but that isn’t his style. Oh and Owens is mad, shocking. For their sake, Romo needs to suck it up and play.
Tennessee: Who rushes for over 300 yards in an NFL game? You can’t even do this on Madden if you play a decent mode like Pro or All-Madden. Good job beating KC. Want to see them face Indy on Monday night, oh wait, I’ll be in class until 9 p.m. central or 10 p.m. eastern and there is no way of changing that. All of my Belmont classmates know exactly what class and whose teaching it that I’m taking without even having to ask me
Washington: Recovered nicely against Cleveland, still think Giants are better, speaking of which…
Giants: Good win against San Francisco, not great. Road game against Pittsburgh will be good test to see if they are title contenders again.
The song currently playing is Dracula by Gorillaz. Here it is:
Have a good fight and good night. Your thoughts are always welcomed in the comments section.
