Cleaning Out the Links, Part III

What’s up everybody? It’s time to…wait for it…Clean Out the Links...Part III!

-First, congrats go to the People’s Champion, the icon of many nations and the motivator of prophets and peasants, Sean Sawyer, on the birth of his new baby boy, Colin!

Tremendous times for everyone. As I always say, to quote Dr. Cox from Scrubs, babies are like dogs learning how to talk, which is awesome!

Childbirth is a beautiful thing, but nasty as well. It’s like an alien growing inside of you. I came across this disgusting article describing the six things that they don’t tell you about childbirth (not only is this potentially NSFW, but one of the nastiest things that I’ve read. I wouldn’t want to put a woman I loved through this): http://www.cracked.com/article_16508_6-terrifying-things-they-dont-tell-you-about-childbirth.html

-Minor league baseball always provides us with great promotional ideas. The Lowell Spinners continued the tradition with a “Politically Incorrect Night.” Funny stuff. I like the idea of getting gas cards. Here are the details: http://blog.sportscolumn.com/story/2008/7/24/94248/5523/oth_other/%26quot%3BTake_me_out_to_the_politically_incorrect_ballgame...%26quot%3B_

-Most of you who read this know what job I have and where I work, however I never, ever discuss my job here. My loneliness issues, love of odd TV shows, those are fair game.

That’s why it’s weird to see the former general manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, LA Dodgers and current front office member Paul DePodesta blogging about his job. It’s an interesting read if you want to get a relatively honest look of a baseball GM. I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it if I was in his position: http://itmightbedangerous.blogspot.com/

-Here are 20 terrible attempts of people trying to dunk a basketball. #19, #1 and #7 made me laugh so hard: http://www.athlists.com/?p=30

-In honor of this past weekend’s X-Games, here are some nasty dirt bike accidents: http://donchavez.com/blog/index.php/2008/07/30/top-10-dirt-bikeskateboardbike-accidents/

-Here’s an interesting article on children training in mixed martial arts. I’ll debate this issue more on Friday on MMA Review: http://www.mmatraining.com/featured/why-i-want-my-children-to-be-mma-fighters/

-If you’re over 40, male and smoke weed, you might want to hold off on having kids: http://www.nypost.com/seven/07152008/entertainment/health/men__keep_a_watch_on_biological_clock_120012.htm

-The Olympics are coming up and I’ll have a prospective on them in my Thursday post. For now, here’s a list of the 50 Most Beautiful Women of the Olympics. I like the top choice (potentially NSFW): http://www.webtvhub.com/the-50-most-beautiful-women-of-the-2008-beijing-olympics-sexy-athletic-girls-pictures-and-videos/

-Cracked.com is one of my favorite comedy Web sites. It provides comedy and factual information together greatly. The site does contain some curse words, so potentially NSFW

Here’s a list of the 5 Greatest Things Ever Accomplished While High: http://www.cracked.com/article_16532_5-greatest-things-ever-accomplished-while-high.html

An inspirational post of seven people who cheated death: http://www.cracked.com/article_16497_7-people-who-cheated-death-then-kicked-it-in-balls.html

-Kids, here are 50 Dumb Thrillseeking Deaths: http://experiencedays.tv/bizarre/dumb-thrillseeking-deaths/index.php

-Here’s a reflective look of the Mike Tyson/Buster Douglas fight from 1990: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/the_bonus/10/10/lastgreatfight/index.html

-And finally, here’s a link to a prank war that is great to view: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1774718

OK, that should be enough for you to digest on. Tomorrow, I’ll have a post on irritating northerners in the south, Thursday will be something on why I absolutely love the Olympics and Friday, MMA Review.

Here’s some Phish playing my favorite song of theirs, David Bowie. The lyrics are so intricate and analytical that they are difficult to comprehend. Just listen to the song, broken up into two parts and you will understand.

Good fight, good night
