College Football Review

Hey everyone, I’m going to do my College football review of last week and give a little preview of

Music to listen to: Shamrocks and Shenanigans by House of Pain

HOP’s Jump Around was on VH1 a few minutes ago and it reminded me of the group’s favorite song.

Crush of the Day: Bob Vila (Florida)

Just kidding…

Jenn Brown (Florida)

On to the games:

Nebraska 27, Missouri 12: The question that has been brought up is whether their defensive lineman, Ndamukong Suh, should receive consideration for the Heisman trophy.

He should definitely get consideration because the award should go to the best player in the nation. I get annoyed when only quarterbacks and running backs get respect for the Heisman. Another annoying thing is when you see people have their top-five players during the season. Let the year finish out first.

BTW, Nebraska has a better shot of beating Texas or Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship than Kansas.

Penn State 52, East Illinois 3: Why even play this game, Penn State?

Arkansas 44, Auburn 23: War Eagle Down! I said last week that this was a possibility. Auburn was playing its second-consecutive SEC road game against a decent opponent that can put up points. Auburn still needs three more wins for my prediction to come true.

South Carolina 28, Kentucky 26: Is this finally the year that the Gamecocks emerge as a legit contender for the SEC East. If they win out, they can make an appearance in Atlanta.

Oklahoma State 36, Texas A&M 31: Good win without Dez Bryant.

Alabama 22, Ole Miss 3: The scary part about Alabama is that Julio Jones hasn’t even gotten off in a game yet this season and he may be the best receiver in college football. When the Tide get their offensive passing attack flowing, no team may beat them this season.

As for Ole Miss, the expectations were too high.

Oregon 24, UCLA 10: Ducks are quietly making a run for a Pac-10 title.

Texas 38, Colorado 14: The score makes this look like an easy win but Colorado dominated the first quarter of this game, which shouldn’t happen. No way that they’re in the class of Alabama or Florida.

TCU 20, Air Force 17 and Florida 13, LSU 3: When you’re the top team in your conference, any road contest is tough. There was crappy weather at Colorado Springs and a night game in Baton Rogue, situations typical of upsets but both teams held out.

National championship game between the two winners later in the year?

Georgia Tech 49, Florida State 44: You already know my thoughts on Bowden needing to go but that defense needs an overhaul as well.

This upcoming week:

Oklahoma vs. Texas: If Texas doesn’t win by at least two scores, the Longhorns will lost two more times this year.

Arkansas at Florida: Some are seeing this as a potential upset. I get that but the Hogs defense isn’t good enough to win this contest.

USC at Notre Dame: If USC doesn’t win this by at least five touchdowns…actually, this game will be competitive in comparison to the past few years. Notre Dame still loses.

Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech: Wish I can attend this game because this may be the biggest game in the Flats in ten years.
