Damn, its been a while since I’ve cleaned out the links. For the new readers, this is a post where I bring different items from the Internet to you to view and enjoy. Let’s begin.

Its been a while since I’ve written on the blog, so lets start with an oldie but goodie segment of Pourtout Pancakes. Let’s clean out some links.

-Interesting article on Ohio State quarterback, Terrelle Pryor. I sometimes feel uncomfortable with all of the attention that young high school athletes and this story puts in an interesting light. -Speaking of Rolling Stone, they had an issue dedicated to the top-100 guitar songs in history. These lists are always debatable because how do you determine this type of stuff. First, shout out to my boy Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of the Volta making the list, but I can argue that isn’t even in his top-five songs. You can’t argue #1, #2 isn’t my favorite Hendrix song (Machine Gun is better), #3 is fire, #4 is overrated, #5 isn’t Keith Richards best work (Gimme Shelter is), #6 is ok, #7 is the truth and Clapton’s solos are moving, #8 is cliché and had to be included, even though I could argue that Jimmy Page’s best work was on some other songs, #9 is ok, but let’s get to #10. -There is no way that Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” is the #10 guitar song of all-time. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Nirvana was so, so overrated and not good. Look, I like Dave Grohl, but come on, Cobain was a bad singer and a terrible guitar player. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains blow those guys away. You want to know the reason that Nirvana gets so much love? Cobain died. If he doesn’t kill himself, people would have seen the overrated nature of their music. I will write about this separately in another post, how people get overrated when they die.

Cleaning out the Links, Part IV

Once again folks, its time for Cleaning Out the Links, Part IV, which has become my favorite weekly segment on my blog.

Sunday Reflections are cool but they sometimes get personal and I express some feelings that aren’t fun to deal with. MMA Review is good as well, but not everyone is into that. This segment has some seriousness, some humor and everything in between. Without further ado…

Nine Inch Nails was the truth and one of my favorite “groups” ever. Notice I said was. The Broken album is a masterpiece. What has happened with the last few albums Trent Rezner?

-Since the Olympics are currently going on, Entertainment Weekly has posted Hollywood’s spin on Olympic events. Some of these clips are pretty funny, especially Forrest Gump going to China to play table tennis. Sound familiar? http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20216974_13,00.html

-College football season is approaching and there are always those college quarterbacks who were amazing in school, yet for whatever reason it doesn’t translate to the NFL. Some are system quarterbacks (the Houston ones back in the day Andre Ware and David Klinger), some were blessed to be on loaded teams (Miami’s Gino Torretta) and some were overrated from day one (I always hated Notre Dame’s Rick Mirer).

However, the one that was saddest to see was Tommie Frazier. He may have been the best college quarterback of the past 30 years. He ran an option like no one else and that 1995 Nebraska team was the best one that I’ve ever seen, including all of the great Miami, Florida State and USC teams. Injuries caught up with him, specifically blood clots in his legs. If healthy, he could have at least been a valuable playmaker like Hines Ward or Randle-El of the Redskins in the NFL.

-Buffalo Bills’ special teams’ player Kevin Everett had a severe neck injury that left him temporary paralyzed in Week One of last season. However, he has recovered and is walking again. Hey everyone, I really don’t know what to write about today on the blog. I’m going to the Family Guy post by the end of the week and I have my MMA Review on Friday.

Other than that, there isn’t anything in particular that I want to write about. I could always do one of my patented, “I’m alone and lonely and why do women not like me” posts, those are a blast for everyone to read. It’s even better going back and reading some of them. However, today, I won’t do one of those posts.

I’ve been clearing out some favorite links on my laptop recently and want to share some of them with you for your enjoyment.

I remember when I was in fifth grade and would take the New York MTA bus to my elementary school. It was good times!

-This actually came up when I stopped by my office recently. We were talking about different college athletic programs like Stanford try to balance athletics and academics. Here’s the kick ass battle between Nameless and Sky from Hero. Recommend this movie so much.

Personally, I want no part of The Rack, The Head Crusher, The Judas Cradle or The Saw. The Burning at the Stake is an oldie but a goodie if you ask me.
